Our Construction Company is currently looking for an experienced Storeman.

 

3 Years in the construction and building industry.

 

3 Years experience in stores and stock control role.

Good knowledge and recognition of building materials and tools and equipment.

Knowledge of stock systems and processes.

 

Knowledge and management of plans and floor/Yard layouts.

 

Good knowledge and Understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace.

 

Knowledge of builder's yard waste/rubble management.

 

Responsibilities, Duties, Tasks:

 

Open and lock the yard/s daily and as when required.

 

Record all receipts and issues of all materials, tools, equipment and/other stock items into the company’s information management system.

 

Correctly label all materials, tools and equipment. Maintain adequate stock levels for sundry items.

 

Keep yard clean, tidy and organised.

 

Ensure the safe loading and unloading of materials, tools and equipment onto and off vehicles.

 

Manage skips and ensure that materials are correctly disposed of in the correct skips to maximise recycling possibilities.

 

Check all deliveries coming into the stores, reconcile, identify incorrect deliveries, communicate and resolve any discrepancies.

 

Receiving, storing, assembling, packing and/or unpacking of goods. Ensure all goods are not damaged and that everything that is ordered is present and accounted for.

 

Liaise with the relevant trades wrt items required for the completion of tasks.

 

Issue materials, specifications of stock and tools to trades teams and ensure the return of tools, equipment and left-over materials.

 

Conduct periodic stock takes.

 

Liaise and coordinate with the Drivers, Buyers and Operations Teams to ensure stores processes are adequately supporting Operations Schedules.

 

Uphold and enforce all policies, procedures and support the implementation of change initiatives.

 

Manage the correct procedure for staff purchase requests for returned materials in stock.

 

Develop more effective yard management methods.
