Our client, a leading name in electronics manufacturing seeks an experienced SHEQ Manager to join their Durban team.

 

Job Description: Quality

 

  • Co-ordinate internal and external audits, ensuring audits schedules are in place and executed according to plan

 

  • Manage QA communication process with both internal and external parties (daily, weekly, and monthly meetings)

 

  • Co-ordinate the implementation of the Corrective Action System.

 

  • Ensure that appropriate corrective actions are implemented, and effective preventative actions are taken to prevent future re-occurrence of defects.

 

  • Monitor production performance defect (performance data) and work with the relevant teams in the organization to investigate and reduce defects

 

  • Investigate the causes of failures of products to determine the root cause of defects.

 

  • Manage the quality teams (Inspectors and Controller) responsible for quality control

 

  • Communicate with customers regarding quality issues or complains and ensure any findings are communicated effectively with all parties

 

  • Managing the development, implementation, and maintenance of a robust Quality Managements System, ensuring compliance with the QMS requirements

 

  • Ensure quality management reviews of the quality management system take place at planned intervals.

 

  • Identify quality training needs and ensure delivery of quality training programs

 

  • Modify, Maintain and Add to the Quality Management System as and when required, including: o Adding and Maintaining Standard Operating Procedures o Adding and Maintaining Works Instructions o Adding and Maintaining Process Flows o Adding and Maintaining Risk Registers o Adding and Maintaining Document Registers o Adding and Maintaining Turtle Diagrams

 

  • Prepare for and attend Management meetings in line with published agendas

 

  • Co-ordinate the development of product Quality Plans as and when required.

 

  • Supervise all staff reporting into this role and ensure all disciplinary, timekeeping, absenteeism and appraisals are performed and completed timeously

 

  • Co-ordination, development, implementation and maintaining a safety, health and environmental system to satisfy the requirements of local legislation and relevant legal safety requirements

 

  • Identify health and safety training needs and organize health and safety training courses

 

  • Co-ordinate safety meetings (Safety reps and Safety committee meetings) at planned intervals

 

  • Co-ordinate Health & Safety monthly inspections and reporting

 

  • Co-ordinate evacuation exercises (drills and emergencies)

 

  • Ensure all letters of appointments are issued and signed as per safety act requirement

 

  • Schedule and execute Health & Safety Audits

 

  • Co-ordinate proper disposal of waste and benchmark various waste suppliers

 

  • Co-ordinate Incident, Accident Investigation and Reporting KPI’s:

 

  • Must be self-driven and demonstrate ability to work with minimum of supervision.

 

  • Collate and present accurate performance data for all areas of the business via regular Quality Review meetings.

 

  • Promote quality awareness and continuous improvement at all levels of the business through efficient use of the Corrective Action system.

 

  • Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills at all levels of the business

 

  • Written and oral communication skills must be off a suitably professional nature.

 

  • Audits from both Customers and Auditors must be completed successfully at the planned target date

 

  • Quality Review meetings must be held monthly

 

  • SHE Committee meetings must be held every 6 months

 

  • Evacuation Drills must occur twice a year

 

  • Ensure all Corrective Actions and Non-Conformances are investigated, and findings implemented within 7 days

 

  • Ensure production defect data is captured daily and reported on the following morning

 

  • Ensure consolidated production defect data is presented monthly at the monthly review meeting

 

  • All Quality Documents (SOP’s, Work Instructions, Key Processes) must be always maintained and kept up to date Requirements: Must have industry specific experience with technical ability Related qualifications 3 - 5 years experience in similar role
