A‑Gas in South Africa has a brand-new opening for an Environmental Services Business Development Manager to support our aim to make a difference. Reporting directly to the Managing Director this exciting opportunity will focus on leading and expanding our Environmental Services in Africa. The position can work out of either our South African offices (Cape Town or Johannesburg) or be based in an appropriate African country. Travel will be required to cities and countries as needed.




Identification and analysis of recovery and reclamation opportunities in Africa.

Liaison with existing and potential clients, government authorities, waste managers and other relevant stakeholders to build a strategic network.

Research, advice and assistance with any identified country processes, legislation, permits, documents, and controls to ensure full compliance.

Development of individual business plans for each identified country considering economic, political, social, and geographic factors.

Ongoing evaluation of market and competitor trends



The successful applicant will have at least 8 years’ experience working in either the HVAC and/or Fire Protection sectors or with ozone depleting and global warming products. Demonstrable experience working on the African continent is a must and exposure to UNIDO and/or other relevant world/government agencies is highly desirable. Understanding and knowledge of the Montreal Protocol and both the Paris and Kigali agreements expected. Availability to travel extensively and to work remotely will be required. Fluency in English is required, with another proficiency in French desirable.
