Specification

The incumbent would be required to support and maximize Research requirements and delivery to all Stakeholders including e.tv Channels, eSat (eNCA, eNuus and e.tv News), Openview (eMedia channels), Marketing, Publicity and Local Productions. To compile and present strategic analyses and recommendations on Industry Research in the Television Landscape to relevant Staff and Departments.

 

Reporting to the Manager: Research, the key performance indicators include but are not limited to:

 

1.Media Analysis

-Compile, analyse and make industry research available to relevant departments using research software applications such as Telmar and Arianna, on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis

-Compile accurate presentations with analyses on audience trends, profiles and programming on request from relevant stakeholders.

-Integrate broader audience knowledge from custom and syndicated sources to formulate recommendations

-Work on audience projections and media trends to assist in informed programming and channel decisions for e.tv, eNCA and Openview

-Work closely with the Marketing department by supplying research and media data to inform Media Planning and Marketing Strategies for e.tv, eNCA and Openview

-Upskill on Qualitative Research and its role in the e.tv, eNCA and eMultichannel landscapes.

-Assist in providing training for departments that rely on research data to ensure quality outputs in their contributions at work.

 

2.Strategic decision-making and analysis

-Identify Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT Analysis) in the Television landscape.

-Use market trends and competitive analyses to deliver informed presentations.

-Use both quantitative and qualitative data analysis and interrogation for delivery of integrated and actionable insights.

-Work closely with the Local Productions department by supplying research information and strategic insights into audience needs and viewing habits on local content and competitive programming trends.

-Package custom qualitative research results to provide strategic insights and findings to relevant departments as required.

 

3.Reporting

-Reporting on audiences, ratings, share and top performing programmes on a daily, weekly and monthly basis across e.tv, eNCA and Openview eMedia channels.

-Assist in compiling monthly reports for e.tv, eNCA and Openview

-Monthly reports for key programmes on the schedules such as House of Zwide, Scandal!, eToonz, Craze and eNuus (kykNET)

-Provide reports to the Finance department on a monthly basis, trended for Total Available and Achieved audiences in Prime Time, by determined Target Markets.

 

4.Industry forums and Networking

-Attend Industry presentations and events

-Attend relevant external meetings with the Broadcast Research Council (BRC) and Research Houses, Nielsen, TGI .

 

Requirements

 

A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a Senior Media Analyst role.

A media related Degree
