About the Job

This strategic position that forms part of the GBR Management Leadership Management Team reports into the Multi-Sector Programme Director and its primary function is to develop a good governance and leadership development training framework that can be used to deliver quality programs that inculcate a culture of transparency, accountability, and sound management styles in government, international organisations, NGO’s, and civil society. Developing far-sighted leaders that can think and compete globally in a rapidly changing world is one of the key components of this position.

 

The best-suited candidate will be someone that has strong links within civil society, government, international organisations, and business networks, regionally and globally. Being equipped to lead GBR’s fledgling programs that cover Politics, Leadership, and Governance the incumbent should be a Christian with a strong commitment to peace, equality and transformation coupled with the ability to develop and deliver tailor-made seminars, training programs that focus on authority, inspiration, and management. Exploring new methodologies to ensure that existing bureaucratic regulations do not hold back economic development whilst ensuring that the circumstances of different countries are considered in the distribution of wealth and resources.

 

Key Responsibilities

Work with existing partners to ensure that development of leaders is delivered throughout the countries and regions of the world.

 

Review of policy shifts and paradigm changes in developing countries with a view to addressing the migration of skills from developing to developed countries and, creating a framework for intervention strategies that will be best suited to affected regions.

 

To prevent, mitigate, and resolve conflicts to build transformative and sustainable peace.

 

Identify options to prevent further violence and to remedy structural barriers to economic recovery, refugee return, and reconstruction.

 

Develop an inclusive, holistic awareness and strategy to address leadership gaps, coupled with constructive change initiatives and the introduction of local solutions for communities experiencing disruption and conflict.

 

Work with grassroots organisations to provide training and other resources to prevent violence, mismanagement, and corruption in all forms.

 

Build local coalitions of influencers from across the business, faith-based networks, government, civil society, and community leaders.

 

Managing cross-functional teams and multi-disciplinary projects.

 

Complete projects by coordinating resources and timetables with key departments and partners.

 

Develop funding proposals, design operating plans, manage resources and coordinate programs and projects.

 

Requirements

Bachelors/Honours Degree in public & development management, international law, human rights, peace and security or in a related field.

 

7-10 years appropriate experience.

 

Experience in managing cross-functional teams and multi-disciplinary projects.

 

Experience in organisational development and change

 

Knowledge pertinent to the Learning & Development field (e.g., Labour Legislation / Skills Development / Adult learning principles / Learning delivery / Learning frameworks / Learning technology)

 

Work with Subject Matter Experts to identify needs.

 

Utilise programme needs analysis, development and evaluation skills and quality assurance.
