An established manufacturer of agrochemicals is seeking Sales and Commission Accountant within their Supply Chain department to calculate and prepare the sales agents’ commission by utilising the commission customized system and maintaining internal controls, ensuring regular communication with the agents.
Minimum requirements for the role:
Must have a relevant financial qualification
Minimum 4 years relevant experience in an accounting and sales support environment is essential
Good relationship building and analytical skills (basic budgeting and cost control) are important
Must be able to communicate well in Afrikaans
Must be computer literate in MS Office
Working knowledge of Syspro is essential
Must have a valid driver’s license and own reliable transport
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Preparing sales and other commission liability (accrual) journals.
Extracting sales commission reports to identify significant variances for management review and approval.
Reconciling commission balance sheet accounts.
Preparing and submitting journals from prior month’s balance sheet review and reconciliation.
Preparing and calculating rebates and incentives.
Communicating monthly commission payment related deadlines to all stakeholders.
Preparing commission payments using the commission system.
Creating commission statements and supporting schedules for submission to the sales team on a monthly basis.
Communicating and submitting to group Human Capital Department (Employees Tax & Take on).
Performing annual tax status reviews.
Managing the depot contact list.
Regularly reviewing and updating procedures for take on and termination processes.
Assisting with the preparation of the internal and external audit process.
Keeping abreast on legal and regulatory issues relating to accounting matters.
Complying with all safety regulations as per company policy in areas of responsibility.
Compiling Finance Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for Management review.
Adhering to all internal control policies as directed by Management.
Undertaking any legal ad hoc tasks for which the incumbent is competent as directed by Management.
