As the Risk & Performance Specialist, the successful candidate will form part of the Risk & Performance Unit. Your role will focus on the implementation of systematic, uniform and effective risk management for your area of responsibility, support the annual performance planning and reporting process, monitoring; evaluation and reporting in the entity and evaluation and enhance governance and business processes. This is a support role to the Team Leader: Risk and Performance and will be key to ensure Senior Management, Executive Management, the Board and key stakeholders are supported and provided with quality information for decision-making purposes. You will be required to travel and to interact with all directorates, components and landscapes within the entity.
Annual Performance Planning
Assist the Team Leader: Risk and Performance with the compilation of statutory plans and reports for the entity.
Assist with and/ or facilitate the compilation of the Strategic and Annual Performance Plans and Annual Report process.
Provide administrative and technical support with the compilation of the Strategic and Annual Performance Plans and Annual Report.
Provide quality assurance for the printed Strategic and Annual Performance Plans and Annual Reports.
Facilitate Monitoring and Reporting
Assist the Team Leader: Risk and Performance with the collation, verification and reporting of performance information across the entity.
Provide administrative and technical support as it relates to performance planning, monitoring and reporting.
Ensure for the accuracy and completeness of and compliance to technical requirements of all evidence supporting performance against targets.
Support directorates, functions and staff in the compilation, collation and verification of performance information.
Prepare accurate and complete monthly, quarterly and annual dashboards, presentations and reports to Management and Landscape staff.
Capture of performance indicators and targets and quarterly and annual reporting on the Provincial performance management system (eQPRS).
Facilitate training on performance indicators, targets and means of verification.
Assist in all matters related to the monitoring, evaluation, reporting and auditing (internal and external) of performance information and entity performance.
Risk and Governance Systems
Assist the Team Leader: Risk and Performance with the implementation of risk management practices across the entity, including insurance related matters.
Assist with and/ or facilitate the risk management process in the entity and for your area of responsibility.
Monitor and review risk assessments conducted, including risk response strategies and its implementation, and update assessment results.
Support directorates, functions and staff with risk management advice and support.
Compilation of risk management reports for risk assessments conducted.
Facilitate risk management training for the entity and for your area of responsibility.
Provide administrative and technical support as it relates to risk management for the entity and for your area of responsibility.
Advocate and promote risk management in the entity and for your area of responsibility
Assist in the placement of insurance cover and policies for the entity.
Assist in the claims management process as it relates to claims received.
Provide administrative and technical support as it relates to insurance for the entity.
Facilitate Business Process Improvement
Assist in the development of performance management and risk management policies, processes, procedures and frameworks for the entity.
Review policies and procedures as it relates to the delivery of performance targets and advise on gaps and areas of improvement.
Evaluate and report on the impact of performance on service delivery.
An appropriate tertiary qualification – NQF level 7 (B-Degree or higher in Public Administration or related).
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Annual Performance Planning and Monitoring and Reporting and a minimum of 4 years’ experience in Risk and Governance Systems.

Corporate Governance practices
Computer literacy in MS 365.
Excellent interpersonal, report writing and communication skills.
Bilingualism in at least two of the official languages of the Western Cape.
A valid Code B (or higher) driving licence.
Excellent problem solving and analytical ability.
