A vacancy exists for a Registered Nurse (Theatre Experienced) , based at Life Sports Science Orthopaedic Surgical Day Centre, Cape Town, reporting to Sr c Bester,  Unit Manager The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that patients receive optimal care in accordance with company and hospital strategic objectives.

 

Critical Outputs

Perform scrub duties in theatre where complex and demanding surgical procedures are performed

Maintain a level of clinical competence

Maintaining quality patient and customer care in accordance with Life Healthcare standards.

Understands cost effective delivery of nursing care

Maintaining sound relationships and communication with patients, relatives and the multi-disciplinary team.

Building professional relationships with doctors and therapists to promote patient-doctor interaction.

Maintaining all Health, Safety and Infection Control Standards

Contributing to an environment that is conducive to learning and provides job satisfaction for all

staff

 

Requirements

 

General Nursing Degree / Diploma

Registration with SANC

Relevant theatre experience and technical skill to meet the critical outputs :orthopaedics,  ENT, plastic surgery.

Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage

Computer proficiency would be an advantage
