TheĀ  Community Organisation Resource Centre (CORC) is registered with the Department of Social

Development of the Republic of South African as a non-profit organisation

(017-659 NPO) since 2002. CORC is a national organisation with offices in Cape

Town, Durban and Johannesburg. CORC together with FEDUP, ISN and uTshani Fund

forms part of the SA SDI ALLIANCE.

 

The main purpose of the alliance is to pioneer people-centred development

initiatives by and of the poor.

 

CORC supports

 

the social and technical processes of FEDUP and ISN. It assists them to develop

strategies for inclusive cities by facilitating engagements with formal actors

like the state, supporting the development of savings, data collection,

learning exchanges, community-led project preparation and implementation.

Receptionist (Based in Johannesburg) Ref 032021

 

(Salary R5 000 per month)

 

 

The main purpose: To manage the Reception area

 

Reporting to the: Senior Administrator

 

 

Key responsibilities:

 

 

  • Opening and closing of the office

 

  • Manning switchboard and reception area

 

  • To receive and forward all calls during office hours

 

  • To retrieve and forward all emails sent to Corc info address to the relevant personnel

 

  • Formally log messages and pass to relevant personnel

 

  • Welcome on site visitors and announce to relevant staff

 

  • Monitor visitor and service provider access to building

 

  • Receive, sort and direct all incoming mail and faxes

 

  • Monitoring front of house and general office areas for cleanliness and safety

 

  • Oversee general contractors for office maintenance

 

  • Monitor staff attendance registers and follow up on staff leave forms

 

  • Order,maintain and receive stationery.

 

  • Maintain fax and photocopy machine and assist users as necessary

 

  • Provide adhoc support around events and logistics

 

  • Oversee first aid kit

 

  • Keep updated backup keys for all doors in office

 

  • Safety equipment is maintained (fire extinguisher)

 

Qualifications and experience:

 

  • Matric

 

  • A good voice

 

  • Proficient in Windows, Word, Excel

 

  • Proficient in English, Xhosa or Tswana or Zulu
