Job Description:

 

Our client, within the manufacturing industry seeks to appoint and experienced and suitably qualified Quality Engineer to join their team based in Durban.

 

Job Duties

 

• Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs.

 

• Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.

 

• Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure transfer to Production of new products are in accordance with approved data.

 

• Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns.

 

• Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.

 

• Create and maintain manufacturing quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc.

 

• Manage and follow an audit program.

 

• Responsible for identifying and defining all company processes together with process owners.

 

• Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions, and preventive actions.

 

• Analyse failure, corrective, and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.

 

• Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods.

 

• Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends.

 

• Initiate, review and implement Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and deviations.

 

• Define product yield monitoring and improvement process. Additionally define, monitor, and report product and process yield targets. Drive failure analysis activities to closure.

 

• Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.

 

• Ensure Quality Management System is maintained.

 

• Develop Training to build Quality Awareness.

 

• Ensure Timeously closure of Supplier Defects and Corrective and preventative actions.

 

• Conduct Management Reviews as defined

 

• Manage and close out all external audit Non-conformances.

 

• Validate those corrective actions are implemented.

 

• Manage and close out all external audit Non-conformances.

 

• Maintain company environmental managements system consistent with the requirements of relevant ISO standard.

 

• Maintain a convenient retrieval storage system.

 

• Ensure up to date change documentation is available.

 

• Liaise with standards authority regarding quality requirements.

 

• Liaise with all levels of people regarding quality system requirements.

 

Job Requirements NQF Level 7:

 

• National Diploma in Electrical / Electronics

 

• City and Guilds or ASQC certificate

 

• Certified Auditor

 

• 5 years Manufacturing Experience

 

• ISO9001 / ISO14001
