Job Description:
Our client, within the manufacturing industry seeks to appoint and experienced and suitably qualified Quality Engineer to join their team based in Durban.
Job Duties
- Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs.
- Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
- Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure transfer to Production of new products are in accordance with approved data.
- Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns.
- Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.
- Create and maintain manufacturing quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc.
- Manage and follow an audit program.
- Responsible for identifying and defining all company processes together with process owners.
- Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions, and preventive actions.
- Analyse failure, corrective, and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.
- Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods.
- Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Initiate, review and implement Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and deviations.
- Define product yield monitoring and improvement process. Additionally define, monitor, and report product and process yield targets. Drive failure analysis activities to closure.
- Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
- Ensure Quality Management System is maintained.
- Develop Training to build Quality Awareness.
- Ensure Timeously closure of Supplier Defects and Corrective and preventative actions.
- Conduct Management Reviews as defined
- Manage and close out all external audit Non-conformances.
- Validate those corrective actions are implemented.
- Manage and close out all external audit Non-conformances.
- Maintain company environmental managements system consistent with the requirements of relevant ISO standard.
- Maintain a convenient retrieval storage system.
- Ensure up to date change documentation is available.
- Liaise with standards authority regarding quality requirements.
- Liaise with all levels of people regarding quality system requirements.
Job Requirements NQF Level 7:
- National Diploma in Electrical / Electronics
- City and Guilds or ASQC certificate
- Certified Auditor
- 5 years Manufacturing Experience
- ISO9001 / ISO14001
