MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

To enhance student wellbeing and thereby contribute to retention and throughput by providing psychological services to students at the Student Counselling Unit, including the supervision and training of intern Psychologists.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Master’s degree in Clinical/Counselling Psychology

Registration with HPCSA as a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist

3 years working experience as a Psychologist

1-year experience working in higher education sector

Valid Driver’s license

DUTIES:

Provide Individual Psychotherapy and counselling to UFH students

Individual and Group interventions in Residence

Conduct Debriefing and Crisis interventions to manage trauma

Provide individual or group supervision to intern psychologists and social work interns

Supervision of intern psychologists’ Community interventions

Monitoring and evaluating intern psychologists and social worker interns

Facilitation of the Residence Talk programs

Training for Student cohorts e.g. TLC, Social Work Department, Health Science students, First Year Experience etc.

Submit monthly reports and monthly statistics
