Description

A vacancy exists for a Pharmacy Stock Controller, based at Life Anncron Hospital, reporting to Annecke Barnard, Pharmacy Manager. The ideal incumbents should be highly motivated, enthusiastic and work well in a team.

 

Critical Outputs

Participate in the implementation and compliance to LHC Quality Management Systems and work procedures.

Participate in achieving required customer service levels in theatre and wards

Acquisition, control and distribution of stock to internal units.

Participate in achieving stock targets e.g. stock adjustments, expiry dates, gross and net variances with stock take.

Stock take planning and assisting with variance investigation in all units

Performing cycle counts and stock takes as well as capturing stock counts and the investigating of variances in Pharmacy.

Dead stock, short dated stock and negative stock management

Assist with system and code maintenance

Liaise with nursing staff and doctors re formulary and initiatives.

Manage product complaints for surgical and consumable stock

Communicate product and supplier changes or “out of stock” to relevant inventory staff, nursing and doctors.

Assist with daily ordering and management of stock levels

Build effective working relationship with doctors, nursing staff and other external customers

Assist with other pharmacy and admin functions on a daily basis

 

Requirements

 

Grade 12.

Hospital experience with sound knowledge of surgical stock and stock control is required.

Computer proficiency is an essential requirement and knowledge of iMeds stock control system and SAP would be an advantage.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as good relationships with doctors, hospital staff and suppliers are essential

Ability to work under pressure and in a team.

Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills

Required to be available for after hour duties, over weekends and public holidays
