CHIEF OFFICER: OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR
The South African Medical Research Council’s Biomedical Research Innovation Platform (BRIP) and the Centre for Platforms Office (CAPO) requires a suitably qualified chief officer/office administrator with experience in financial and office management. The duties of the advertised position include providing administrative support to projects, coordinating financial transactions with Finance and Supply Chain Management, provide financial reports, and management of assets.
Financial management of project and financial codes, contracts and income funds, corrections of transactions on project codes, and recordkeeping of their expenditures.
Supervise and ensure that payments are done in time, within budgets.
Engage with authorities of Customs & Excise and other stakeholders for import and export of goods and equipment.
Engage with international stakeholders in operational aspects of projects such as providing progress reports, financial reports, raising and paying invoices and communicate with counter parts at Organisations around the World as requested.
Provide administrative support and manage the day-to-day logistics and operational aspects of BRIP and CAPO, and to provide executive administrative support.
Management of assets, updating the asset register, liaising with Asset Management and Finance regarding replacements and asset write-offs.
3-year National Diploma in business/financial management, secretarial and administrative, office management studies or verified alternative equivalent on NQF5 3-year diploma qualification in or related field.
Minimum of 5 years secretarial, administrative, financial and project management experience.
Familiarity with the PFMA financial, administrative and legal procedures.
Sound communication skills.
Ability to work as a team member.
5 years’ experience of working with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and supply chain management.
A salary of R361 043 per annum, cost-to-company, will be negotiated in consideration of experience and qualifications.
