Ensure that all company policies, procedures & SOPs are adhered to

Attend HOD & any other meetings as required

Responds to all building safety related safety concerns and ensure that safety and security regulations are adhered to

Draws up preventative maintenance schedules annually and ensures that plant and machinery is maintained in accordance with the schedule, including budget

Prepare monthly maintenance report for senior management

Chair, Train and organise regular meetings of the safety committee

Attends to the breakdown of plant, machinery & equipment

Lead teams of people and manage cultural diversity and staff relations within your department

Manages the maintenance team rosters

Ensures that refrigeration equipment, air conditioning, plant, drainage systems & grease taps are always maintained

Monitor health, safety and security, maintain safety records as per requirements

Undertakes routine checks on water pressure equipment & maintain accordingly

Ensures that all rooms, public space & outside areas are in good repair by performing various required tasks related to a variety of trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc to ensure a well-maintained hotel

Draws up department budget, controls expenditure against budget & provides a monthly report of maintenance expenditure

Assist with hotel recruitment by contributing to the provision of staff when necessary

Staff appraisals and staff development

Conduct on the job training and coaching

Take action in case of staff discipline problems and staff grievances in accordance with the hotel’s disciplinary and grievance procedures

Monitors the level & quality of services performed by external contractors in accordance with lease agreements, service contracts & warranties

Ensures that emergency equipment is in working order at all times

Organise regular fire and evacuation exercises

Maintains clean, orderly & hazard-free work areas

Identify & report the needs for major repairs

Identify training needs & implement training when required

Any other adhoc duties that may be required

5 years or more supervisory experience with heavy machinery, production lines or related fields

Preferably have experience in the hotel/hospitality environment

Strong critical thinking and organizational skills

Ability to identify and solve inefficiencies in processes
