Description

 

A vacancy exists for an HR Manager position, based at Head Office in Dunkeld reporting to the Regional HR Manager. The successful candidate will work with the Regional HR Manager to provide HR generalist support to Head Office and to the Life Health Solutions business. This will be done with and through the line by providing sound people management leadership, planning, policy/legislative interpretation, communication, IR, developing sound relationships and change capability in line with Life Healthcare strategic objectives.

 

As Business Units are geographically spread, the successful candidate will be required to travel extensively.

 

Critical Outputs

Ensure sound people management through leadership, teamwork, collaboration, and communication by:

 

Partnering with HoD’s/line managers to align people management with the HR strategy

Building sound professional and trusting relations with all customers i.e., line and employees

Ensuring HR best practices are complied with

Working closely with and through the line managers to achieve business objectives

Identifying problematic HR trends, develop risk mitigation solutions and implement.

Conducting training for managers on Human Resources related topics.

Ensure effective attraction, resourcing, and retention of talent by:

 

Working with the line to identify resourcing needs and implement strategies to attract, source and retain talent

Supporting line managers with the implementation of retention initiatives for mission critical skills

Monitoring termination trends, reporting and finding solutions with the line

Facilitating effective productivity of employees through performance, wellness, and absence management by:

 

Driving and ensuring effective performance and absence management processes

Driving and ensuring effective employee wellness initiatives are accessible and used by employees and managers

Identifying anomalies/trends and manage effectively e.g., poor performance

Ensuring that effective talent management, diversity initiatives are implemented by:

 

Driving the implementation of talent and succession management processes

Ensuring that the skills development processes are effectively driven

Working with the line to drive the recruitment and development of EE candidates

Working with HoD’s/line managers to achieve a diverse workforce

Effective employee relations through sound ER/IR practices and communication structures by:

 

Providing support, council and advice to line managers and employees on people ER/IR issues

Ensuring that communication structures are effectively managed with and through the line e.g., Consultative Forum

Providing training to line managers on IR to ensure all disciplinary and grievance matters are managed per the company processes.

Represent the company at the CCMA and in any trade union engagements

Ensuring effective change and HR initiatives/project management by:

 

Driving (planning, organising, and monitoring) the implementation of projects

Ensuring effective change / HR management plans are in place for all projects

Partner with business to implement local and specific initiatives e.g., organisation redesign

 

Requirements

 

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree.

Minimum of 3 to 5 years proven IR & HR generalist management experience with at least 2 years in an HR management role

Understanding of SA legislative context where it impacts on HR

Sound knowledge of HR practices

Sound knowledge and experience in Industrial Relations

Strong interpersonal and self-management skills

Computer proficiency

Valid driver’s license and owning a car essential

Extensive and regular travel to the business, which will include days away at a times
