Stellenbosch wine estate is looking for a

dynamic and passionate Head Chef who will be

responsible for managing all aspects of the kitchen. Duties including menu

design, food preparation, cost control, health and safety, quality control and

team management. Prior experience in an upmarket environment and proven

experience as a Head Chef are essential.












3 + Years previous

Senior Sous/Head chef experience in an upmarket environment




High degree of

self-motivation and ambition




Ability to work both

independently and as part of a team




Good understanding of

food and wine trends




knowledgeable in

creating, implementing, and maintaining written control documents




Good understanding of

stock procedures and control




Good knowledge of

planning, budgeting, and departmental administration




Experienced in

functions and events




Valid Driver’s License




Knowledgeable of all

dietary and religious requirements












Ability and

willingness to train, mentor, manage and continually improve the kitchen





Interpersonal and

communication skills are essential




Leading and training

of the kitchen staff in line with the property food directive, ensuring food

preparation to the highest standard.




Menu compilation and





Effective Kitchen

Administration to minimize shortages and wastage and effective stock control,

assuming full responsibility of any shortages, wastage, and variances.




To manage and monitor

all costs and implement measures to control them.
