A Vacancy has become available for an Electrician Artisan based at Life Groenkloof reporting to Engineering Manager. Groenkloof Hospital is a 260 bed unit with 11 operating theatres, 50 DR suites, specialized Oncology unit and various other specialists. The hospital is the flag ship of the group and is in existence over 64 years and is in a development phase to upgrade the facility whilst trading as a fulltime hospital. The successful incumbent will be responsible for assisting in continuous availability of engineering services as required for the Hospital infrastructure.
Assisting with all hospital maintenance related work on a day to day basis.
Assisting in maintenance of Priority 1, 2 and 3 equipment as defined in the LHC Engineering policies and procedures.
Be responsible for the repairs and maintenance of the Hospital plant, equipment and buildings during breakdowns, shutdowns and planned servicing.
Assisting in all general maintenance enquiries relating to Doctors rooms, auxiliary services and hospital functional units.
Assisting to provide line managers with relevant information as required.
Assist in the daily inspection, checks and rectification of Priority 1, 2 and 3 equipment as defined in the ON KEY system and related IPM check sheets provided.
Ensure completion of daily job cards as well as feedback on completed and all spares required.
Ensure general upkeep of normal and back up electrical supply in the life.
Manage and execute all policies, protocols, standards and guidelines of the OE department of the hospital as defined in the critical outputs and support across the specialties/critical outputs to ensure continuity are maintained in case of emergencies, vacancies, leave or operational requirements as defined by the OEM or Hospital Manager.
Implement, maintain and adhere to all policies, procedures and standards raised on the Gateway and ensure ON KEY system is updated weekly.
Minimum N5 Electrical or equivalent qualification
Must have a valid Trade Test
Atleast three-year experience post trade test.
Qualification or experience in maintenance of air-conditioning units will be an advantage.
Experience in General Hospital maintenance, plumbing, painting, hospital beds, door locks, carpentry etc.
Knowledge of electrical/mechanical installations and maintenance thereof.
Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
conversant in English.
Ability to complete tasks timeously and be able to work under pressure.
Eager to learn new systems and to accept work challenges.
Adhere to safe working practices (OHS Act) and risk management.
Be in possession of a valid drivers license and own vehicle.
Perform stand-by duties and respond to call-outs within 30 minutes after hours.
