The Non-Communicable Diseases Research Unit is looking for an experienced driver who is familiar with and has experience in research fieldwork who will be responsible for the driving of research participants, fieldworkers and biological specimen as well as project administrative duties for the South African Diabetes Prevention Programme. The South African Diabetes Prevention Programme aims to conduct a study to prevent the development of diabetes in your various communities in the Cape Town area.

Transporting of biological specimen

General project administrative tasks

Assisting project staff members with other tasks, when needed

Have excellent communication skills (people’s person)

Core Requirements:


A matric certificate/NQ4 qualification

Be fully bilingual, English and isiXhosa [be able to read, write and communicate fluently]

Code 8 driver’s license




Has been involved in research work before

Has experience as a driver of passengers and goods

Willing to assist research staff in day to day tasks
