Description

 

A vacancy exists for a Clinical Services Manager, based at Head Office in Illovo, reporting to the Managing Director, Life Esidimeni (LE). The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of high clinical standards within LE.

 

Critical Outputs

To ensure that the LE quality system and standards are implemented, appropriately updated and aligned to the group Clinical Governance Framework

To take ownership of the quality provision of all LE healthcare services, including regular and monitoring and reporting of clinical KPIs as agreed.

To provide oversight of employment and contracting of medical practitioners, their ongoing training and professional development, clinical protocols, quality standards review and audit.

To ensure alignment between Clinical Services and Nursing Services.

To identify and support the implementation of growth initiatives at new and existing customers by providing technical expertise.

To act as chairperson of the LE Medical Standards Committee. Regular meetings are to be held and sound policy, procedure and practice should be developed and maintained.

To ensure the effective utilization of medication and laboratory tests and determine cost effectiveness.

To facilitate regular engagement with our national quality & clinical departments

To engage and collaborate with the LE clients (DoH/DSD) at various levels & with relevant stakeholders (clinical & non-clinical)

Assist in identifying and implementing new medical technology where applicable

Represent LE on national/group clinical forums

 

Requirements

 

MBChb, registered with the HPCSA

Experience in Management

Business management qualification and experience would be an advantage

Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players

Understanding of the public sector healthcare system

Computer proficiency

Ability to travel

Public sector experience will be an advantage

Knowledge of public-private partnership arrangements will be an advantage
