Minimum Requirements

Qualification(s):

 

 BSc Eng or B Eng in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronic, Computer, Civil, Chemical, Metallurgical, Industrial Engineering

 

 Professional Registration Body:  ECSA as a Professional Engineer

 

Experience:

 

7 years: Experience in  engineering  design,  design  integration  and engineering  management  in power generation technologies for materials  handling  plant,  low  pressure services  plant,  chemical plant,  boiler emissions  control, milling,  draft group,  burners,  power  plant processes, turbine center line,  pumps,  gas turbines,  high pressure equipment,  feed heating  and cooling,  solar  plants,  wind energy  plant and related  chemistry  systems,  electrical, C&I  and civil.

Key Responsibilities

 

 Develops discipline-specific technology vision, strategy and direction setting

 Develops and approves discipline specific philosophies, technical standards, procedures, work practices and specifications

 Produces and integrates complex engineering solutions/designs for asset creation on behalf of customers at various stages of the project lifecycle

 Plans and controls discipline-specific research into new technologies

 Represents Eskom in national and international technical forums

 Manages and conducts complex product, equipment, material, service, and change impact evaluations

 Provides complex   technical consulting and investigation service for customers (OU support)

 Provides professional technical leadership over senior engineers and engineers within their own discipline
