BUDGET COORDINATOR

Three – Year Contract

 

The Conference Centre and Event Management Office is a business unit based within the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) in Cape Town. This Office has been successfully operating under the SAMRC leadership since 2005.

 

This office is responsible for events facilitated in the conference centre (at the SAMRC Head office) as well as arranging and management events hosted locally, national and internationally. Candidates must manage all project funds across the departments.

The position will require staff to work flexible hours based in Cape Town.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Collecting, interpreting and reviewing financial information

Preparing and managing budgets for multiple projects concurrently

Provide financial income and expense reports for multiple projects to internal and external clients

Regularly update the financial management of SOP’s for the unit

Financial and general administration function of the unit.

Core Requirements:

 

3 Year Financial Accounting Diploma or similar

3 to 5 Years’ budgeting experience (internship period excluded)

Experience in JDE system or similar financial programmes

Be able to interpret and review financial information

Proven track record of preparing and managing budgets for multiple projects

Computer proficiency (Internet, e-mailing, MS Office)

Possession of a valid driver’s licence

Travel and flexible hours is a requirement

Experience in Event Management systems

Financial reporting experience

Proven project management and accounting experience
