Bookkeeper

 

Our client at an Estate in Noordhoek is looking for a bookkeeper. Someone who would be able to come in to work for 3 days a week.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Weekly

 

Every Monday submission of invoices for approval to the owners

Pay bills – Projects and monthly expenses (Rates, levies, salaries etc.)

Month End

 

Bank reconciliation on Xero online accounting software

Capture the General Ledger monthly totals in Excel and send to international accountant (Includes expense detail on certain figures, for example, Manor House and Other Buildings maintenance).

Keep a list of invoices paid every month and submit to CFO and International accounted

Capture and settle credit cards

Manage petty cash

Communicate with the Wealth Banker

In branch international payments

 

 

Interiors Account

 

Keep a list of Owner Interiors expenses, pay bills and request funds.

 

 

Staff

 

Compile salary sheet to send to Payroll company

Check clock cards

Capture overtime in season

Capture leave

Pay salaries and SARS

Staff pay packages (savings cash payments, Passport loan for foreign staff, Investec EFT savings)

Facilitate staff saving plans

Employment contracts and terminations

UIF submissions

Take staff to the doctor if they have been injured at work

Keep the first aid kit stocked

 

Car Insurance

 

Renew car licenses

Manage comprehensive and third party insured cars

Add and remove drivers from the policy

Submit documents when there is a claim

 

 

Other

 

In season help running errands when Chef and Butler are extremely busy

Assist with the household shopping during covid lock downs

 

 

Noordhoek Sailboats (Pty) Ltd

 

Handled the following for the owner ‘s yacht building company

 

Pay both local and international bills

Register the company for VAT, Income Tax, PAYE, Import and Export

Issue invoices to clients and followed up non-payment

Company secretarial work (Submitting annual returns to CIPC-Companies and Intellectual Property Commission)

Monthly PAYE submissions and every second month the VAT return

 

 

Requirements

 

At least 5 years’ experience as a bookkeeper

National Senior Certificate

Certificate or similar qualification as a bookkeeper
